Meet Cherri.
Cherri Spriggs’ storied career spans nearly 25 years and includes experience in Economic Development, Education, Tourism, Land Use, Transportation, Health Care, Tort Reform, and Public Finance. She has managed public affairs and community outreach programs with multi-million dollar budgets on behalf of a number of Fortune 100 companies, local government agencies, non-profit organizations and associations. Spriggs has also served as Lead General Consultant, Co-General Consultant or Deputy General Consultant for 21 local, regional and statewide ballot measure campaigns throughout the Country since 2004.
Over the last two decades she has worked for two international public relations firms, a small, local boutique firm, in-house at one of the Sacramento region’s largest health care providers and most recently as a 10 percent ownership shareholder in a leading national public affairs firm. In May of 2022, Spriggs decided to harness the experience she’s garnered and opened Meraki Public Affairs.
Originally from southern California, Spriggs has won national recognition for her work with multicultural and multilingual communities including Spanish and Vietnamese. Assimilating to the Spanish-language and Latinx culture herself through family, study and living abroad in San Sebastian, Spain, Cherri has spent much of her career developing and implementing culturally and linguistically appropriate strategies for her clients based in meaningful, respectful, transparent and authentic communication.
Her record of success coupled with her unique collaborative approach to ballot initiative campaigns and traditional corporate public affairs programs has earned her a national reputation for being an intentional, strategic leader and masterful tactical implementor. Cherri’s passion, dedication and vivacious spirit, in other words, her meraki, makes her a client favorite.
Spriggs resides in Placer County with her son, and mini Australian Doodle, Adam Sandler. She is active in her community serving as the Executive Director of the Placer Business Alliance, the Alternate Public Member to Placer County’s LAFCO, Secretary of the Board of Directors for Lighthouse Counseling & Family Resource Center and President of the Board for Visit Placer. She formerly served as an Economic Development Committee Member for the City of Lincoln for six years, President of the Lincoln Area Chamber of Commerce for two years and on the California State University, Chico, Department of Journalism Professional Advisory Board. She is also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Sacramento.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with an option in public relations and minors in Spanish and art history from California State University, Chico, in 2001.
